Looking for a Career on the Sea? A leading provider of HVAC, Refrigeration, Fire, Security and building automation technologies is immediately looking to onboard a Journeymen Cruise Ship Mechanic in Tukwila, Washington.
This role is ideal for those that are willing to travel on the sea for work for 1-3 week periods, is highly motivated and thrives in fast-paced environments. This role is a great fit for an individual with Commercial HVAC experience who is looking to build their mechanical background with Chillers on land and cruise ships.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to travel 30% of the Year as customer needs (planned or unplanned)
- Valid Driver’s License and Passport
- At least 5 – 10 years as an experienced Journeymen
- Knowledgeable in water/air chillers, Commercial HVAC units and rigging
- Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines
- Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple functions in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Service/maintain chilled water plants on cruise ships and commercial buildings
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs; repair leaks, overhaul equipment
- Inspect and observe pressure of liquids/vapor to ensure efficient operation of the unit and make adjustments accordingly
- Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; diagnose circuits
- Able to rig and set up gantry for safely lifting equipment, overhauling pumps, chillers, etc
- Recognize/identify potential hazards associated with performing work-relate duties
- Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments
- Participate in a comprehensive OSHA-approved safety course (preferably OSHA 10 or 30 hour course) and adhere to company and regulatory compliance programs
- Must be able to wear proper PPE incl. helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand, sit and/or squat for extended periods of time
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently life and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs
- Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 350lb total weight limit
- Must be able to maneuver in confined access areas
- This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risks of electrical shock and variable environmental conditions based on location

Shifts
- Overseas aboard cruise ship 24 hours, 7 Days a Week for a period of 1-3 weeks
